Paul Mawhinney

Paul Mawhinney is known due to his obsession toward a record. Paul Mawhinney had about more than 3 million phonograph record until 2011. He started his obsession by bought a record of Frankie Laine titled "Jezebel" when he at 8 years old. Furthermore, this obsession leads him to have about 160,000 records at 30 years. His works as salesman at that time giving him advantage because he had opportunity for record collection activity. He did not miss a chance to visit any record stores in order to satisfy his activity. This situation leads to the opening of record store named Record Rama in Pittsburgh by Paul Mawhinney. His sales was at good level until he had to close down his store by 2008. His collection was estimated about 50 million and most valuable record was Rolling Stone that was estimated about 10, 000 USD per record. Also, Paul Mawhinney expressed his concern toward phonograph record by stated that a record was lost its value and known as merchandise good in the market only. Today, people do not see phonograph record as a mementos anymore.
